Six Years, Six Milestones (6 in 6)

Georgetown, Guyana – November 27, 2024- Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. proudly celebrates its 6th anniversary, reflecting a steadfast commitment to excellence, community support, and educational empowerment. In the span of six years, the company has achieved significant milestones that reflect its dedication to fostering growth in the oil and gas sector, enhancing educational opportunities and training, upskilling workforce and promoting workplace safety in Guyana and beyond.

The theme of this anniversary, “6 in 6,” highlights six major achievements that have defined the company’s journey. Here’s a look at how we’ve made a difference and how we plan to continue doing so.

1. ISO Certification (2019) – Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. was awarded ISO certification in 2019, marking its commitment to maintaining internationally recognized standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence in the oil and gas industry. These include ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
2. Instituted BSc Project Management Degree Program in Guyana – The company pioneered education in project management in the country by offering a Bachelor’s degree program in Project Management. Thus, equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills to manage complex projects in the growing energy sector.
3. Trained Over 200 Students – Green State has successfully trained over 200 students through its various educational and professional development programs, empowering individuals with the knowledge and certifications needed to succeed in any industry especially with the oil and gas industry’s high demand for skilled workers.
4. Fostered International Partnerships and Accreditations – The company has fostered strong international relations and partnerships with accreditation councils and educational bodies such as Association for Project Management (APM) and National Computing Centre (NCC).
5. First to Receive NEBOSH Silver Accreditation in Guyana – Green State became the first company in Guyana to be awarded NEBOSH Silver accreditation, underscoring its commitment to promoting workplace health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
6. Pioneered 80% Scholarship for Single Mothers and Their Children – In a groundbreaking initiative, Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. introduced an 80% scholarship program for single mothers and their children, providing equal access to education and career opportunities.

Green State Oil and Gas Services Inc. continues to offer a wide range of programs aimed at professional development and capacity building in the oil and gas industry. These programs include degrees in Project Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Accounting & Finance, Business & Administration, Executive MBA in Project & Supply Chain Management (Double Award) and Executive MBA in Accounting & Management (Double Award).  Additionally, there are also specialized certifications, such as the NEBOSH International General Certificate, IEMA Environmental Sustainability Skills for Managers, Petroleum Experts (PETEX) short courses and ISO Courses.
